Metro Vancouver After Dark
The Richmond Night Market
Every summer weekend, a stretch of River Road turns into the largest night market in North America — strings of lanterns, sizzling woks, and a crowd chasing the same thing: something new to eat, buy, or watch. In its 26th year, the market brings together 500+ international food vendors, over 100 retail stalls, live performances on the Main Stage, and a 600-foot zipline soaring above it all. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and it’s one of the most distinctly Vancouver nights out there is.

Quick Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Richmond Night Market open year-round?
No — it’s a seasonal summer event, running weekends from late April through late September. Outside that window, the site sits empty until the next season.
Do I need cash?
Yes, largely. Many food and retail vendors are cash-only, though acceptance varies by booth. On-site ATMs are available if you run short.
Is it kid-friendly?
Very. Children under 7 get in free, there’s plenty of low-key browsing, and the Main Stage often features family-friendly performances. Just expect crowds and noise, especially on weekend evenings.
What happens if it rains?
The market operates rain or shine. Most food stalls have overhead covers, so a rainy night just means fewer crowds and shorter lines — some locals consider it the best time to go.
What’s the best way to beat the lines?
Arrive right at opening, visit on a regular Sunday instead of Friday or Saturday, or pick up a Zoom Pass for express entry through a separate gate.
