Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so October 30 to November 1 is the big Halloween weekend in Metro Vancouver, and the last chance for most of the season’s haunts. Fireworks are not allowed inside the City of Vancouver, so the two big fireworks shows are in Burnaby on Friday and Richmond on Saturday. Here is what is on, day by day, and you can find more in our best Halloween events in Vancouver guide.
Haunted Village at Burnaby Village Museum (Friday and Saturday, October 30 and 31)
The Haunted Village turns the 10-acre Burnaby Village Museum into a self-guided walk through storybook tales, running from 4:00 to 9:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday. It is a family-friendly way to spend the early evening before the fireworks, and tickets are sold online. See our Haunted Village guide for more.

Central Spark, Burnaby (Friday, October 30)
Central Spark takes over Central Park and Patterson Avenue in Burnaby on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a DJ dance party, food trucks, spooky entertainment, a drone light display at 7:15 pm, and a fireworks finale at 7:30 pm. Entry is free and costumes are encouraged. The fireworks go ahead rain or shine, but the drone show depends on the weather. See our guide to Central Park in Burnaby for the park itself.

Astra Lumina, Stanley Park (select dates this weekend)
Astra Lumina is the new night walk at the Stanley Park Railway site and the Canadian debut of Moment Factory’s travelling light experience. Nine themed zones of light installations, projections, and an original cosmic soundtrack make for a walk of about 45 to 60 minutes. It runs on select dates, so check the ticket calendar for Friday to Sunday, and bring a card because it is cashless. See our Stanley Park guide for the park in daylight.

HowlOver Canada at FlyOver, Canada Place (through Sunday, November 1)
FlyOver turns into HowlOver Canada for Halloween, with a flight ride through the night sky hosted by Biker Mama the Witch and her spooky sidekicks, plus an eerie pre-show and decorations. It is a good wet-weather option downtown, and tickets are sold online. See our Canada Place guide for the area.
Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors, Surrey (through Sunday, November 1)
Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors in Surrey packs several haunted houses into one site, with live actors, animatronics, a stage show, and scary snacks.
