Remembrance Day falls on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2026, and ceremonies take place in almost every city and town across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The largest Remembrance Day event in Vancouver is at the Victory Square Cenotaph downtown, where the Last Post sounds at 11 am, followed by two minutes of silence. Most ceremonies are free and open to the public, and there are more than 30 across the Lower Mainland.
This guide lists Remembrance Day ceremonies in Vancouver, the North Shore, Burnaby, New Westminster, the Tri-Cities, Richmond, Delta, Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Abbotsford and Chilliwack, with addresses and times. Where a 2026 notice was available, the times below come from it. Where only last year's schedule was available, the page says "usually" or "in recent years", so confirm with your city or local Legion branch before you go. Also this year, Veterans' Week runs from Nov 5 to 11, Indigenous Veterans Day is on Nov 8, and 2026 marks the 100th year of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Remembrance Day in Vancouver
Vancouver has four public Remembrance Day ceremonies, from the large downtown service at Victory Square to a quiet one in Stanley Park, plus a choir concert on Nov 11.
Victory Square Cenotaph
Victory Square is the main Remembrance Day ceremony in Vancouver and the oldest continuing annual ceremony in the city, dating back to 1924. It takes place at 200 West Hastings Street, with the ceremony listed for about 10:30 to 11:30 am in 2026. Music and the parade of veterans and serving members typically come first, and the Last Post sounds at 11 am, followed by two minutes of silence, a gun salute, the Lament and wreath-laying. A flypast usually follows if the weather allows, and the parade moves off after the ceremony. Thousands of people attend, so arrive well before 10 am if you want a spot near the cenotaph. Afterward, Chinatown is a short walk away, and Canada Place is on the waterfront.

Japanese Canadian War Memorial, Stanley Park
A smaller ceremony takes place at the Japanese Canadian War Memorial in Stanley Park at 10:30 am, near 845 Avison Way. The memorial honours Japanese Canadian soldiers, and the setting is quieter than Victory Square. Plan for a short walk from the nearest parking or bus stop and dress for wet weather. After the ceremony, walk the Stanley Park seawall or visit Beaver Lake. See our Stanley Park guide for more.
Grandview Park Cenotaph
The cenotaph at Grandview Park, 1657 Charles Street in East Vancouver, holds a neighbourhood ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 am. It is a good choice if you live on the east side and want a shorter trip than downtown. Trout Lake is nearby for a walk afterward.
UBC War Memorial Gym
UBC has held a Remembrance Day ceremony at the War Memorial Gym since the building opened in 1951, and 2026 marks the gym's 75th anniversary. Doors open at 10 am and the ceremony begins at 10:45 am at 6081 University Boulevard. The community is welcome, and a livestream has been offered in past years. Read the UBC ceremony page for accessibility details. Afterward, visit the Museum of Anthropology or the UBC Rose Garden.
Chor Leoni Remembrance Day concert
Chor Leoni presents The Soul Flies Away, its 35th annual Remembrance Day concert, on Wednesday, Nov 11 at 2 pm and 5 pm at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, 1022 Nelson Street. The program of music and readings is built around reflection and peace. Tickets are required, and the choir sells them on its website.
Remembrance Day in North Vancouver
The City of North Vancouver and the District of North Vancouver each hold their own ceremony on the morning of Nov 11.
Victoria Park Cenotaph (City of North Vancouver)
The City of North Vancouver's parade usually leaves the J.P. Fell Armoury at 1513 Forbes Avenue at about 9:30 am and finishes at the Victoria Park Cenotaph, near East Keith Road and Lonsdale Avenue. The ceremony usually starts at about 10:30 am, with two minutes of silence at 11 am and wreath-laying afterward. It is smaller than Victory Square but still draws a good crowd. Afterward, try Lynn Canyon Park or Rice Lake for a forest walk. See our North Vancouver guide for more.
Cates Park (District of North Vancouver)
The District of North Vancouver usually holds a waterfront ceremony at Cates Park, 4141 Dollarton Highway, beginning at around 10:30 am. It is organized with the Burrard Yacht Club, and spectators gather on shore and on boats at anchor. The program includes a procession, the Last Post, two minutes of silence and wreath-laying. Check the district's website for the 2026 schedule. Deep Cove is a short drive away.

Afterward, walk the nearby Ambleside waterfront or head into the forest at Whyte Lake. See our West Vancouver guide for more.
