About Fort Langley Community Hall
Fort Langley Community Hall is the best-known building on Glover Road, the main street of Fort Langley Village. It is a large classic revival hall set back from the road on a spacious property, and it has been the social heart of the village for more than 90 years. Many visitors stop here for photos, and film fans will recognize it from a long list of TV shows.

The hall is not a museum or a ticketed attraction. It is a working community building, so the best way to enjoy it is as one stop on a walk through the village, along with the shops, the heritage station and the riverfront.
History of the Community Hall
The Fort Langley Community Improvement Society was formed in 1924 by the Fort Langley Women's Institute with one goal: to replace the old town hall with a larger community building. After years of fundraising, construction began in October 1930 using both volunteer and paid labour. The hall opened with an inaugural ball in March 1931.
Architect
Vancouver architect Archibald Campbell Hope designed the hall. His brother Charles was a well-known Fort Langley resident.
Style
A classic revival building with a spacious ballroom that has hosted dances, weddings, meetings and community events for generations.
Ownership
The hall has always been owned and run by the community society and cared for by volunteers, not by the Township.
Heritage status
Recognized as a heritage site in 1979 and listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2004, per the Historic Places listing.
Fort Langley Community Hall in Film and TV
The hall and the village streets around it are a regular filming location. The building has appeared in productions such as Once Upon a Time, Bates Motel, Fringe, Supernatural and Riverdale, along with TV movies and commercials. If you enjoy spotting locations, walk the village slowly, since many nearby storefronts have also been used on screen.
Can You Visit or Rent the Hall?
You can see the exterior and grounds from the street at any time, which is the easiest way to visit. Interior access depends on the hall's events, classes and private bookings, so do not plan on going inside without checking first.
The society also rents the ballroom, a meeting room, a kitchen and the grounds for weddings, parties and community events. Contact the society through its Langley Chamber of Commerce listing for current availability and rental terms.
Photography tip: Visit in the morning or on a weekday when the street is quiet. Take a wide shot from across Glover Road, then walk the path and garden for close-up details of the entrance and trim.
Things to Do Near the Community Hall
The hall sits in the middle of Fort Langley Village, so most of the village is within a short walk. A good plan is to see the hall first, then continue to the shops and the station.

- Heritage CN station: The old Canadian Northern Railway station is part of the same heritage story as the hall and is a few minutes away on foot.

Getting There and Parking
Fort Langley Village is about an hour's drive from downtown Vancouver, depending on traffic, and the hall is on the main street. The village gets busy on summer weekends and during events and festivals, so allow extra time to find parking and read posted signs carefully. Visiting on a weekday is usually calmer.
Hall access, rentals, events and parking rules can change. Confirm details with the Fort Langley Community Improvement Society before you go.
